On April 14, a driver fleeing a traffic stop near Longmont stopped at mile marker 245 after a flat tire before he exited his vehicle, jumped over the center median and was hit by oncoming traffic on northbound I-25—three deputies sustained minor injuries and the highway was closed for 3½ hours—while the investigation continues.

CDOT announced that tolling on the I-25 Express Lanes between Fort Collins and Berthoud has been delayed until the end of 2025—equipment delays and anti-weaving technology coordination caused the setback—and drivers have enjoyed free travel since the lanes opened in December 2023.
