Platte River Power Authority said its gas turbines ran at higher capacity since joining the Southwest Power Pool market on April 1.
The authority also relaunched the Craig 1 coal unit unexpectedly for energy supply — officials are working with operators to resolve pricing and supply issues.
🏛️ Government
Platte River Power Authority began constructing its first utility-scale battery storage system today at Severance substation + set a groundbreaking for June 4 and received a permit to build five gas turbines for power.
Phase two of Black Hollow Sun, Northern Colorado's largest project, will come online later this year.
