The Local 7 UFCW is urging Safeway employees to vote on a possible strike for better benefits—pay and health care.

The union said the vote will guide upcoming negotiations with management.

I-25 south of Fort Collins near Mead will have overnight closures starting June 15 for bridge work; the highway will close nightly along Weld County Road 34 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. until June 17 and along Weld County Road 38 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. from June 22 to June 24, while Weld County Road 38 over I-25 will close at 7 a.m. June 17 and remain closed through the end of 2025 — detour routes are in place as planned by CDOT.
