Here's your local news at a glance for Tuesday, the 30th of June.
Good morning, Loveland.
Rocky Mountain National Park banned all campfires effective immediately because of extreme fire danger from regional wildfires (visitors may only use petroleum-fueled stoves and grills in designated areas) until further notice.
Wildfires burned over 40,000 acres with ongoing evacuations, and three firefighters lost their lives while battling the blaze - Governor Polis declared a disaster emergency and approved National Guard assistance as crews continue fighting hazardous conditions.
The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment issued an air quality advisory Monday for nearly 20 counties as wildfire smoke from fires in southwestern Colorado and southeastern Utah is expected to bring moderate to heavy haze through Tuesday morning; officials advise residents, especially children, older adults and those with heart or lung conditions, to limit outdoor activity.
