Xcel Energy is hosting its 15th Day of Service on September 12 and 13 to support about 30 nonprofits with 45 volunteer projects—a chance for employees, families and the public to join and help local organizations with all needed supplies provided.

The event is expected to attract around 1,100 volunteers.

A 37-year-old motorcyclist who fled a Loveland traffic stop crashed into an SUV near Eisenhower Boulevard and Denver Avenue at 8 p.m.—he was taken to Medical Center of the Rockies where he died—and the SUV driver had minor injuries.
