CSU, Fort Collins and Larimer County are hosting free events on Nov 1st and 2nd to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the Laramie Foothills Bison Conservation Herd—events include a morning wildlife talk at Soapstone Prairie Natural Area on Nov 1st and a stage program with drumming and dancing at Old Town Square on Nov 2nd. The herd was established in 2015 using reproductive technology to produce bison with Yellowstone genetics free of brucellosis, with eight original adult females still in the group.

On October 9, a fire destroyed 18 businesses at the Caribou Village Shopping Center in Nederland as Boulder County Sheriff's Deputy Josh Jarboe said he was the first on scene, feeling intense heat as he arrived—he then alerted nearby residents and a block party to support affected businesses is scheduled for Nov. 1 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
